David has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years, and began his business career in Vancouver. He was one of the pioneers of the Main Street area known as SoMa in the early 90′s where he founded and operated Lugz Coffee Lounge and Public Lounge Eatery.  He was also a partner in the original Slickety Jim’s Restaurant at Main and Broadway.

After honing his business skills consulting for other local companies in business development David relocated to Shanghai, China in 2003.  He spent over three years learning the culture, marketing luxury residential real estate to expatriates for a national firm and teaching Business Management Theory at the university level.  David returned to Canada and settled in Victoria with his wife Mary, who grew up in Fairfield.  It was a natural fit to join Duttons & Co, where his business skills, passion for economics and international experience quickly became an asset to clients.

David has studied and earned licenses in Sales, Property Management and Strata Management as well as his Broker's license.  He is now Managing Broker and an Owner of the company.  If he isn’t working with clients or walking the neighbourhood with his wife and daughter, David can usually be found sailing in Oak Bay or playing bebop jazz guitar somewhere.
